ABOUT US

Oxford University Press (OUP) is a department of the University of Oxford. It furthers the University's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide. OUP is the world’s largest university press with the widest global presence. It publishes in many countries, in more than 40 languages, and in a variety of formats – print and digital.
At Oxford University Press East Africa (OUPEA), we believe that education has the ability to transform lives. Since 1954, OUPEA has continued to be a pacesetter in publishing in Kenya by employing high quality, innovative and well-researched methods to meet Kenyan learners’ needs. Teachers and learners are at the center of our organization because we know the future of Kenya depends on an educated community.
OUP is East Africa’s number one dictionary and literacy publisher, and we produce a wide range of quality curriculum-compliant educational materials for use in the classroom and at home. Using local experts and authors, we have published more than 2,000 titles in Swahili and English. Through our efficient processes and over 150 distributors in Kenya, we have been able to reach millions of learners, teachers and lecturers with our books each year.

We publish books at all academic levels including:
a) ECDE
b) Primary School
c) Secondary School
d) TVET
e) Higher Education
Teachers play an important role in imparting knowledge. At OUPEA, we support teachers in achieving their educational goals by providing quality educational resources and training through organizing subject workshops and availing schemes of work on our website.

The Way we Work

OUP is committed to the highest standards of integrity and we comply with the laws and regulations of every country in which we do business. Our Code of Conduct presents a set of values and principles that underpin all of our work at Oxford University Press.
It provides guidance to our staff about the way they should work and what is expected of them. It also includes OUP's commitments across a range of important ethical and social concerns.
Our Partner Code of Conduct has been created to give our business partners a clear view of the values and principles that underpin all our work.
We choose our business partners with great care, ensuring that they are competent and reliable. We also value our relationships with them and endeavor to make them honest and open. In return, we expect all our business partners to act in accordance with our Partner Code of Conduct at all times.
